Full Job Description
GE Vernova is seeking a Lead Engineer in Systems Engineering to join our team in Noida, India. In this role, you will be instrumental in driving the design, creation, and optimization of complex power systems, particularly focusing on High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) converter stations.
As a Systems Engineer, you will apply a cross-functional engineering discipline that balances business and technical needs to deliver high-quality products. Your responsibilities will encompass identifying and quantifying system requirements, developing design concepts, conducting trade studies, implementing optimal designs, and verifying system integration and execution from concept to operation.
This position offers autonomy within established functional practices and procedures, requiring sound judgment with guidance. You will impact departmental operations and be responsible for planning and execution.
Key Technical Areas:
- Power System System Design for HVDC
- Main Scheme Design for HVDC Converters
- Single Line Diagram
- High Voltage Equipment (Transformers, Switchgear, Measurement Devices, Power Reactors)
- High Voltage Equipment Testing (Witnessing)
- Insulation Co-ordination and Basic Insulation Co-ordination Studies
- Surge Arresters
- Performance Analysis
- Station Losses Calculations
Main Responsibilities:
- Perform detailed studies and deliver comprehensive study reports.
- Produce technical specifications for High Voltage equipment.
- Witness equipment testing to ensure compliance and quality.
- Provide technical leadership and expertise in areas of specialization.
- Mentor and guide peers within your areas of expertise.
- Engage in customer-facing activities, representing the company's technical capabilities.
- Develop and industrialize solution tools and processes for engineering activities, including creating Design Guides.
- Stay abreast of new developments in HVDC technologies, implement control and protection solutions, and create new analysis techniques and system study tools for optimized solutions.
- Represent GE Vernova in external events by publishing technical papers or participating in working groups (e.g., CIGRE, IEC, IEEE).
- Adhere to company policies, Code of Conduct, and promote Health and Safety awareness and best practices.
Education Requirements:
A degree in Power Systems Engineering, with an MSc or above, is required.
Work Experience Requirements:
A minimum of two to five years of experience in industrial engineering roles is essential.
