Lead Engineer

Celestica is seeking a Lead Engineer, Software for their facility in Guindy, Chennai, India. This is an individual contributor role focused on software development within the Networking domain. The engineer will be responsible for developing, debugging, testing, deploying, and supporting code for systems and products. This involves writing and maintaining software in various languages and at different hierarchy levels, from firmware to applications, following agile development processes and product lifecycle guidelines.

Key responsibilities include working in cross-functional teams with designers, customers, manufacturing engineers, and project leadership to ensure robust product development and enhancing designs based on feedback. The role requires expertise in L2, L3 networking stacks (OSPF, BGP, MPLS, VXLAN, QoS), management interfaces (SNMP, Netconf/Yang, REST, CLI, gNMI, gRPC), and system features like Platform Bringup, Stacking, and High Availability.

Required technical skills include strong experience in C, C++, Python, and GoLang programming languages. Experience in Network Operating System (NOS) development and sustenance is crucial, with SONIC NOS experience being a significant advantage. A strong working knowledge of Broadcom ASICs/NPUs (XGS/DNX) is a must-have, with Marvell (Innovium/Prestera) being optional. The role involves SDK/NOS development at the Chennai facility.

The ideal candidate will possess strong inter-working skills, good communication abilities, and the capacity to collaborate effectively with other functional teams and customer-facing teams. A Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Typical experience for this role is 3 to 8 years. The position is performed in a normal office environment and may require extended periods of sitting, visual concentration, and repetitive manual movements.
