About the Role: Lead Engineer - Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)

Eaton is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Engineer to drive innovation in Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE). This pivotal role involves leading the full Systems Engineering development lifecycle, from requirements management to verification, validation, and certification testing, particularly within safety-critical industries such as aerospace and automotive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a practitioner in Systems Engineering with hands-on experience in multi-disciplinary systems, especially in regulated safety-critical environments like aerospace and automotive.
  • Leverage deep, hands-on experience with MBSE toolchains, including SysML modeling tools such as Cameo, MagicDraw, Capella, and Enterprise Architect, to lead and execute the complete Systems Engineering development lifecycle.
  • Champion the continuous improvement of systems engineering capabilities, fostering the evolution towards a robust Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) environment.
  • Apply and develop advanced MBSE tools, processes, and techniques to create system architectures that precisely meet stakeholder needs.
  • Translate System Architecture ideas into practical applications, demonstrating feasibility through rigorous engineering calculations and predictions.
  • Engage in comprehensive systems modeling, utilizing MBSE principles and the SysML modeling language with tools like Rhapsody, Enterprise Architect, and/or CAMEO.
  • Familiarity with industry standards such as ARP4754A and IEC15288 is highly desirable.
  • Develop and implement company best practices for creating system/sub-system architectures, including the decomposition and allocation of requirements to sub-systems and Line Replaceable Units (LRUs).
  • Plan, lead, and execute requirements capture and systems architecture development using tools like CRADLE and DOORS NG.
  • Execute system engineering tasks while driving continuous improvement to achieve project KPIs, system objectives, and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Gain experience in system modeling and validation, addressing Multiphysics challenges across Mechanical, Pneumatic/Hydraulic, and Electrical/Electronic domains. Employ risk management and robust design methodologies to enable informed decision-making. DFSS GB certification or deployment experience is preferred.
  • Conduct Multiphysics system simulations using MatLab Simulink, ensuring compliance with specifications. Drive digital transformation by effectively leveraging data, insights, and digital tools.
  • Lead and execute new mechanical/electromechanical system development through Eaton's PROLaunch / PreLaunch system engineering processes.
  • Demonstrate working experience with CAD, analytical, and analysis tools including Creo, Matlab/Simulink, AmeSim, and MathCAD.
  • Apply proficiency in advanced problem-solving techniques to address complex engineering challenges.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Electronics, or Systems Engineering, or an equivalent field.
  • INCOSE certification in Systems Engineering is considered an added advantage.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • A Master's degree with 10+ years of experience or a Bachelor's degree with 12+ years of experience in System Engineering, covering requirements engineering, electromechanical system design, development, validation, and launch.
  • A minimum of 5 years of demonstrated experience with MBSE/SysML/UML methodologies.
  • Proficiency in System Engineering, MBSE, Requirements Management, System Architecture, Matlab/Simulink, AmeSim, MathCAD, and Verification & Validation.
  • Demonstrated drive for results, strong communication skills, an analytical mindset, and a passionate approach to engineering.
