Lead Engineer - Fullstack

HighLevel is seeking a dynamic Lead Engineer to spearhead our full-stack development efforts. This role is crucial for driving innovation, mentoring a talented team, and architecting scalable, high-performance solutions within our cutting-edge platform.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of engineers, cultivating a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement in a remote setting.
• Architect, develop, and optimize scalable backend solutions leveraging Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services such as Pub/Sub, Cloud Tasks, and Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), with a strong focus on autoscaling mechanisms. Experience with equivalent platforms like AWS is also valued.
• Drive frontend development initiatives using modern frameworks like Vue.js or React, with an emphasis on performance optimization and, where applicable, module federation to enhance modularity and efficiency.
• Design, implement, and optimize database structures and queries, primarily for MongoDB and Firestore, ensuring high performance, data integrity, and scalability to support our massive user base.
• Build and scale robust platform infrastructure in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, prioritizing reliability, security, and cost-effectiveness.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including product managers and designers, to define technical requirements and deliver impactful, user-centric solutions.
• Tackle complex technical challenges with a methodical, analytical, and proactive approach, particularly under pressure, ensuring timely and effective resolutions.
• Stay abreast of the latest industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in software engineering and cloud computing, integrating them into the team's workflows and architectural decisions.

Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of professional software engineering experience, with at least 1 year in a formal leadership or mentoring role.
• Expert-level proficiency in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services, including hands-on experience with Pub/Sub, Cloud Tasks, Kubernetes (GKE), and implementing effective autoscaling strategies. Familiarity with AWS is also beneficial.
• Strong command of modern frontend frameworks such as Vue.js or React, complemented by a deep understanding of frontend performance optimization techniques. Knowledge of module federation is considered a significant advantage.
• Advanced expertise in database technologies, particularly MongoDB and Firestore, with a proven track record of performance optimization and scalable data management.
• Demonstrated success in building, scaling, and maintaining platform infrastructure in high-growth, fast-paced, or mission-critical environments.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and perform effectively under pressure.
• A comprehensive understanding of distributed system architecture, microservices, and cloud-native best practices.
• Outstanding communication and leadership abilities, with a demonstrated history of effectively mentoring, guiding, and developing engineering teams.
