Role Overview:
As a Lead Data Engineer at Rakuten India (Bengaluru), you will drive machine learning systems from data ingestion to real-time prediction.

As a Lead Data Engineer at Rakuten India (Bengaluru), you will drive machine learning systems from data ingestion to real-time prediction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, scientists, and engineers.Develop scalable algorithms for real-time recommendations and explore emerging tech shifts.Design experiments with data scientists to prototype new models and boost marketing efficiency.Create robust feature engineering pipelines using Python/Spark/TensorFlow/Keras/R.Spearhead A/B testing, statistical analysis, and model evaluation (classification/regression/clustering).Ingest, cleanse, and manage big datasets; utilize Databricks Delta Lake & MLflow where applicable.Implement end-to-end ownership of prediction engines on Azure cloud infrastructure.
- Bachelor's (BS/MS) or PhD in CS/Data Science with verified credentials before start date.5-9 years experience, preferably in FinTech/Credit Card sectors.Proficiency: Python libraries (Scikit, NLTK, Numpy), TensorFlow, Keras, Spark, Git/Github.In-depth knowledge of Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs).Strong SQL skills for querying and processing large volumes of data.
Mandatory Requirements:
Nice to Have:Databricks Delta Lake architecture experience & MLflow expertise.
