Lead Backend Engineer at Lifesight in Bengaluru, Karnataka
Lifesight is seeking a Lead Backend Engineer to join our Innovation Hub in Bengaluru. This is a full-time, work-from-office position.
About the Role:
As a Lead Backend Engineer, you will be instrumental in the development of our core modules and services. You will be responsible for designing, coding, prototyping, and performing code reviews for highly scalable, reliable, and fault-tolerant systems. Continuous refactoring of applications and architectures to maintain high-quality standards is expected. You will stay abreast of the latest technologies in distributed systems and caching, researching new tools to build next-generation systems. This role requires an engineer who excels at writing readable, concise, reusable, and extensible code. You will collaborate with product management to articulate requirements, scope, and execute the feature roadmap. Additionally, you will contribute to our team's growth by participating in the hiring process as an interview panelist.
What We Are Looking For:
- Skills: Strong knowledge in Cloud platforms (preferably GCP), NoSQL stores (Cassandra, Clickhouse, BigQuery), messaging systems, and containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes. Experience with distributed caches such as Redis is essential. Proven experience in building low latency, high volume REST API request handling systems.
- Attitude: An excellent attitude, passion for working in a team, and a strong willingness to learn. The ability to "Get Stuff Done!" is crucial.
- Experience: Ideally, 7+ years of hands-on experience in designing, developing, testing, and deploying large-scale applications and microservices in any language or stack, with a preference for Java and Spring Boot.
