L3 Network Engineer

Continental is seeking an experienced L3 Network Engineer in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. This role focuses on managing and maintaining the company's network infrastructure, particularly for VPN and Business Partner Access. Responsibilities include overseeing VPN gateways, firewalls, load balancers, MS Guest Accounts, and Site-to-Site tunnels. The engineer will manage the BPAT portal, conduct monitoring, backup, and restore operations, perform hardware patching, configure network infrastructure, handle third-level IT tickets, and coordinate with external partners.

The position operates within a dynamic, collaborative environment that embraces DevOps and agile methodologies. Key tasks involve driving service management processes, including escalation and problem resolution, coordinating incident and problem management with internal IT and external service providers, and providing expert-level support. The role requires preparing environmental changes and maintaining comprehensive documentation of network configurations, processes, and procedures. Stakeholder management includes assisting customers with process improvements, documentation, training, and usability. Network management encompasses overseeing VPN gateways, firewalls, MS Guest Accounts, Site-to-Site tunnels, and custom portals, along with hardware patching and complex network configuration for optimal performance and security. Monitoring and maintenance activities ensure network stability and data integrity through regular checks, backups, and restores. Continuous improvement is fostered through feasibility studies, IT concept development, market research, and vendor evaluations. A strong educational background in IT and network areas is required, with preferred certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent. A minimum of 2 years of experience in network engineering with a focus on VPN gateways, firewalls, load balancers, and complex network infrastructures is essential. Skills include a strong understanding of VPN technologies, firewall configurations, MS Guest Accounts, Site-to-Site VPN tunnels, BPAT Tool, and network monitoring tools. Proficiency in English and intercultural sensitivity are necessary. Experience with automation tools like Ansible and Terraform, as well as knowledge of agile frameworks, ITSM processes, and DevOps principles, are considered a plus.
