L3 Network Engineer (Access Services) - Bengaluru, India

Continental is seeking a skilled L3 Network Engineer to join our Access Services team in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. This role is pivotal in managing and maintaining our network infrastructure, specifically focusing on VPN and Business Partner Access solutions.

Key responsibilities include overseeing VPN gateways, firewalls, load balancers, and Site-to-Site tunnels. You will also manage the request portal, perform monitoring, backup, and restore operations, conduct hardware patching, and configure network infrastructure. This position involves handling 3rd level IT tickets and collaborating with external partners.

Your contributions will be crucial in driving escalation and problem management processes, coordinating incident and problem resolution with internal IT teams and external service providers, and offering expert-level support.

Your detailed tasks will encompass:

• Service Management: Leading complex incident and problem resolution, providing expert support, and ensuring seamless integration with external service providers.
• Change Management: Preparing environment changes and maintaining comprehensive documentation of network configurations, processes, and procedures.
• Stakeholder Management: Assisting customers with process improvements, documentation, training, and usability initiatives.
• Network Management: Direct management of VPN gateways, firewalls, request portal, and Site-to-Site tunnels. Conducting hardware patching and configuring complex network infrastructure for optimal performance and security.
• Monitoring and Maintenance: Ensuring regular monitoring, backup, and restore operations to guarantee network stability and data integrity.
• Documentation: Maintaining detailed documentation for Access services, including processes, procedures, and user guides.
• Continuous Improvement: Conducting feasibility studies, developing IT concepts, performing market research, and evaluating vendors.

Qualifications:

• Education in IT and network areas is required.
• Preferred Qualifications:
• Certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent.
• Experience with network security solutions and protocols.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in network engineering or a related role, with a strong focus on VPN gateways, firewalls, load balancers, and complex network infrastructures.
• Skills:
• Strong understanding of VPN technologies and firewall configurations.
• Experience with MS Guest Accounts and Site-to-Site VPN tunnels.
• Proficiency in diagnosing and resolving complex network problems using appropriate tools.
• Ability to manage complex IT tickets and deliver expert-level support.
• Excellent English communication skills (spoken and written) and intercultural sensitivity.
• Experience with automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform) for on-premise and virtual environments is a significant advantage.
• Proven experience in managing external service providers and a solid understanding of IT compliance and data security.
• Knowledge of agile frameworks, ITSM processes, and DevOps practices is beneficial.
