Kubernetes Engineer - Pune, India

Hitachi Solutions is seeking an expert Kubernetes Engineer for a full-time role within our product organization, based in Pune, India. This position requires considerable skill and expertise in systems design and large-scale software development.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions and Azure DevOps.
• Define and implement build and test pipelines for containerized architectures.
• Utilize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for stateful environment deployments.
• Manage Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), linting, and other code quality controls.
• Develop and maintain GitOps and Kubernetes pipelines.
• Manage SaaS deployment APIs.
• Assist in the design, engineering, development, planning, and administration of Azure Kubernetes AKS clusters for critical business applications.
• Collaborate closely with application, engineering, security, and operations teams to build robust Kubernetes and Azure PaaS & IaaS solutions within an agile, modern enterprise-grade operating model.
• Demonstrate a strong capability to learn new concepts quickly and/or possess robust domain expertise.

Essential Functions

• Design, implement, and maintain advanced Kubernetes solutions.
• Communicate these solutions professionally to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Collaborate effectively with other engineers and team members using Git in a secure, efficient, and scalable manner.

Qualifications

• Advanced Kubernetes experience.
• Proficiency in GitOps (e.g., FluxCD, ArgoCD).
• Extensive experience with Docker & Containers and custom Helm charts.
• Top-tier Linux skills.
• Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) experience for mid-to-large enterprise systems.
• General cloud architecture experience with a major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, GCP), with a preference for Azure.
• Experience building Kubernetes Operators is a plus.
• General DevOps experience is a plus.
• Experience with Custom Controllers, Custom CRDs, and service mesh.
• A software engineering background is a desirable asset.
