Junior Web Developer - Kolkata
Digitex Technologies is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Web Developer with at least 3 years of professional experience to join our team in Kolkata (Salt Lake – Sector V). The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in WordPress and either Laravel or Shopify, complemented by excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with internal teams and clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, customize, and maintain websites utilizing WordPress.
- Build and manage web applications using Laravel or develop and customize e-commerce stores with Shopify.
- Translate UI/UX designs into responsive, high-quality web pages.
- Create custom themes, plugins, and modules as needed.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize existing websites for performance and security.
- Ensure website scalability and maintainability.
- Collaborate effectively with designers, project managers, and fellow developers.
- Provide clear project updates to clients and internal stakeholders.
- Adhere to best coding practices and maintain comprehensive documentation.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum 3+ years of professional web development experience.
- Strong proficiency in WordPress (theme & plugin development, customization).
- Solid experience with either the Laravel framework OR Shopify development/customization.
- Proficiency in: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, PHP & MySQL.
- Experience integrating REST APIs.
- Demonstrated experience with responsive design and ensuring cross-browser compatibility.
- Basic understanding of SEO best practices.
- Familiarity with Git/version control systems.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Experience with WooCommerce.
- Experience with third-party API integrations.
- Knowledge of website hosting, deployment, and server management.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
