Full Job Description
NGDATA is seeking a Junior Functional QA Engineer for its Pune, India office. You will be integral to the Engineering team's quality assurance processes, responsible for executing test cases, identifying and documenting defects, and ensuring software products meet rigorous quality standards before release. This role involves close collaboration with development teams to understand project requirements and contribute to enhancing overall software quality.
What You Will Do
- Execute test cases to verify software against functional and non-functional requirements and report outcomes.
- Identify, document, and track defects and issues using bug tracking tools.
- Collaborate with development teams to grasp requirements and ensure comprehensive test coverage.
- Conduct regression, integration, and system testing as needed.
- Assist in developing and maintaining test plans, requirement intake documents, and test cases.
- Support the automation of test processes and contribute to test automation scripts.
Additional Tasks
- Upload test results to X-ray (JIRA) for diligent tracking and reporting.
- Actively participate in daily Agile stand-up meetings, providing status updates to the Functional Team Lead and stakeholders.
- Contribute to knowledge transfer sessions within the QA team, sharing insights and best practices.
- Maintain close contact with functional test engineers to exchange insights and ensure alignment between automated and manual testing efforts for IEP functionalities.
Background / Skill Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
- ISTQB certification is a plus.
- Strong command of the English language.
- 1-3 years of experience in QA / Software Testing.
- Understanding of software testing principles, including manual and automated testing methodologies.
- Strong problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail for identifying and resolving defects in complex software.
- Basic knowledge of SQL is mandatory.
- Basic knowledge of Python scripting is valuable.
- Familiarity with web technologies such as XML, JavaScript, JSON, and REST API creation is a valuable addition.
- Experience with tools like JIRA, ALM, or other test management tools.
- Familiarity with Agile frameworks and regression testing.
- Ability to document and troubleshoot errors effectively.
- Knowledge of various platforms including Windows, UNIX, and Linux.
