Location: Remote (India)
Experience: 2-4 years
Shift: 2:00 PM - 11:00 PM IST (overlap with US working hours is mandatory)
Openings: 2, immediate joining preferred
Reports to: US-based Senior Data Scientist (day-to-day supervision)
About the Role
We are looking for two Junior Data Scientists to join an offshore remote development team working under the direct guidance of a US-based data scientist. You will build and deploy data science solutions for commercial use cases, including AI implementations on the Databricks platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Process, clean, and extract insights from large volumes of unstructured data (text, documents, logs, sensor or image data)
- Build, test, and validate machine learning and statistical models
- Contribute to Digital Twin modeling and simulation work
- Apply Operations Research (OR) techniques such as optimization, scheduling, and simulation to business problems
- Develop and deploy AI/ML pipelines on Databricks
- Support commercial use cases (e.g., demand forecasting, pricing, customer analytics, supply chain)
- Collaborate daily with the US data scientist, with clear documentation and regular progress updates
Required Skills
- 2-4 years of hands-on experience in data science or applied ML
- Strong Python (pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn) and SQL
- Proven experience handling unstructured data
- Exposure to at least one of: Digital Twin projects or Operations Research (optimization/simulation tools such as PuLP, OR-Tools, Gurobi, or SimPy)
- Working knowledge of Databricks (notebooks, Spark/PySpark, MLflow)
- Good written and spoken English; comfortable working under remote supervision
Good to Have
- Experience with Databricks AI/ML implementations or Delta Lake
- NLP or LLM/GenAI exposure
- Commercial or business domain use-case experience (retail, CPG, finance, supply chain)
- Cloud experience (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
Education
Bachelor's or Master's in Data Science, Computer Science Engineering,
Work Conditions
- Must be willing to work 2 PM - 11 PM IST on a consistent basis
- Reliable internet and a dedicated remote work setup
