Junior Calypso Developer (Java & Cloud Application Development)

Synechron Technologies Private Limited is seeking a motivated Junior Calypso Developer to join our dynamic team in Gurgaon/Gurugram. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in Java development, with a particular emphasis on cloud environments, and a genuine interest in applying their programming skills within the financial services sector.

Responsibilities:

• Develop Java applications specifically engineered for cloud environments.
• Demonstrate robust programming skills to create efficient and maintainable code.
• Apply effective problem-solving techniques to address technical challenges and optimize solutions.
• Utilize experience within the finance industry, especially in investment banking, for front and back-office applications.
• Leverage product knowledge of FX (foreign exchange) while integrating with platforms like Calypso or Murex.

Software Requirements:

• Proficiency in Java programming with a strong focus on cloud application development.
• Understanding of financial applications and associated processes, particularly within investment banking.
• Familiarity with relational databases and basic SQL queries.

Technical Skills:

Must Have:

• Strong programming skills in Java.
• Proven experience in developing Java-based applications for cloud environments.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities to effectively tackle technical challenges.

Good to Have:

• Experience in the finance industry, particularly in investment banking, with exposure to front or back-office operations.
• Product knowledge of FX (foreign exchange).
• Familiarity with platforms such as Calypso or Murex.

Experience:

2 to 4 years of relevant experience in Java development, with a preference for experience within the financial services sector.

Day-to-Day Activities:

• Collaborate with senior developers and team members to understand project requirements and objectives.
• Design, develop, test, and maintain Java applications for cloud environments.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues that arise during development and in production.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to team knowledge-sharing sessions.
• Stay current with industry trends and technologies, applying new knowledge to enhance project outcomes.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Relevant internships or project experience in software development are considered a plus.
