Full Job Description

Role Overview:

Daignostix is seeking a Junior AI Engineer (2-4 years experience) to own scoped model workstreams for clinical AI development in medical imaging. You will collaborate with senior engineers and certified radiologists to move validated models from research baselines into production environments serving real healthcare needs.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Model Development: Train, fine-tune, and evaluate CNN- and transformer-based models (classification, detection, segmentation) using rigorous experimentation pipelines.
  • Data Engineering: Build DICOM pipelines for ingestion, de-identification, preprocessing, augmentation, and dataset versioning to ensure data integrity.
  • Evaluation & Analysis: Report clinical metrics including sensitivity, specificity, PPV/NPV, ROC-AUC/PR-AUC. Conduct deep error analysis by subgroup to identify model failure modes.
  • Clinical Collaboration: Partner with US and Indian certified radiologists to define ground truth labels, review challenging cases, and translate clinical feedback into actionable engineering improvements.
  • Production Support: Package validated models as inference services using Python, Docker, and FastAPI. Implement unit/regression tests to ensure stability without altering clinical outputs under senior guidance.


    Mandatory Qualifications:
  • Education: B.Tech/B.E./M.Tech/MS/M.Sc from a top-tier institution (IIT, IISc, IIIT, BITS Pilani) in CS, EE/AE, AI, Data Science, Math, or Statistics.
  • Experience: 2-4 years of hands-on deep learning engineering beyond tutorials/API wrappers. Must have driven at least one substantial computer vision system into a reproducible pipeline with real downstream impact.
  • Tech Stack: Expert proficiency in Python, NumPy, PyTorch or TensorFlow/Keras, OpenCV, scikit-learn. Solid fundamentals in CNNs, Vision Transformers, and statistical analysis (ROC/PR curves).
  • Engineering Skills: Proficient with Linux, Git, Docker, pytest, CI/CD practices.

    • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with DICOM/NIfTI formats or MONAI frameworks.
  • Experience deploying models via ONNX/TensorRT and using experiment tracking tools like MLflow/W&B.
  • Knowledge of LLMs, embeddings/RAG systems, and major cloud providers (AWS/Azure/GCP).
