Electrosteel Group, a prominent player in the manufacturing sector, is seeking a dedicated Finish Line Operator for their Foundry Fittings department in Kolkata, India. This permanent role is crucial for ensuring the quality and production targets of Ductile Iron (DI) pipes and fittings.

Job Summary

The Finish Line Operator will be responsible for executing all finishing operations for DI pipes and fittings, adhering strictly to defined quality standards and contributing to achieving shift production targets. This involves proficient operation of finishing equipment, meticulous quality checks for dimensional accuracy and surface finish, and upholding safe and efficient production practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Operation of finish line equipment for DI pipes and fittings, including grinding, fettling, cutting, chamfering, and inspection.
• Meeting assigned shift production targets while ensuring high product quality and safety standards.
• Conducting visual and dimensional inspections to identify and address surface defects, cracks, and casting irregularities.
• Ensuring all finished products meet technical specifications, drawings, and stringent quality requirements.
• Safe handling of materials using appropriate tools, fixtures, and lifting equipment.
• Collaborating with quality, maintenance, and production teams to resolve any defects or process issues.
• Maintaining excellent housekeeping and 5S standards within the finish line operational area.
• Strict adherence to all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and foundry safety guidelines.
• Accurate recording of production output, rejections, and downtime in daily shift reports.
• Actively supporting continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing productivity and minimizing rework.

Required Knowledge & Skills

• In-depth knowledge of foundry finishing processes specifically for DI pipes and fittings.
• A solid understanding of common casting defects and the quality requirements for finishing.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting production drawings and technical specifications.
• Hands-on experience with grinding tools, finishing machines, and various inspection instruments.
• Strong awareness of safety practices within foundry and heavy manufacturing environments.
• Flexibility to work in shifts and meet demanding production schedules.

Experience & Qualifications

• Experience: 2-5 Years of relevant experience in a foundry finishing role.
• Education: Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
