Jr DevOps Engineer
Full Job Description
We are seeking a Jr DevOps Engineer to join our team in Kolkata. This role offers the chance to contribute to high-throughput transaction processing systems and prestigious payment platforms. You will be instrumental in designing, building, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, supporting cloud infrastructure on AWS and/or Azure, and managing containerized applications with Docker and Kubernetes. Responsibilities include performing Linux system administration, monitoring application and infrastructure health, automating operational tasks through shell scripting, and collaborating with development teams to ensure seamless deployments. You will also be involved in incident troubleshooting, maintaining documentation, and adhering to security and compliance best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in designing, building, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for application delivery.
- Support and manage cloud infrastructure on AWS and/or Azure.
- Deploy, monitor, and manage containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Perform basic system administration tasks on Linux servers (RHEL, Ubuntu, CentOS).
- Monitor application and infrastructure health using logging and monitoring tools.
- Automate routine operational tasks using shell scripting.
- Assist in incident troubleshooting, issue resolution, and root cause analysis.
- Collaborate closely with development teams for smooth deployments.
- Maintain infrastructure, deployment, and operational documentation.
- Adhere to security, compliance, and best practices.
Required Skills:
- Strong working knowledge of Linux environments (RHEL / Ubuntu / CentOS).
- Hands-on experience with version control systems, preferably Git.
- Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or equivalent.
- Basic understanding of cloud services (AWS/Azure) including compute, networking, storage, logging, monitoring, and audit services.
- Practical experience with Docker.
- Basic understanding of Kubernetes concepts (pods, services, deployments).
- Shell scripting for automation and operational tasks is mandatory.
Good to Have:
- Exposure to Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, ELK stack).
- Basic networking concepts (DNS, TCP/IP, load balancing).
- Awareness of security best practices.
