Jr. AI Engineer

About the Role

Aiqon is hiring for a Jr. AI Engineer position. This role combines AI development with engineering to build practical systems like document processing, truck tracking, logistics tools, computer vision applications, and full-stack software for clients in USA and Australia.

Responsibilities

• Develop and ship models for applied problems including document extraction, vehicle tracking, and client-specific use cases beyond just LLM integrations.
• Build reliable AI features such as retrieval pipelines, model serving infrastructure, and tooling essential for production environments.
• Contribute to full-stack engineering efforts covering product UIs, APIs, data management, and system integration.
• Support USA and Australia client projects by maintaining clear communication and working overlapping hours with their time zones.
• Write clean, maintainable code accompanied by tests; actively participate in code reviews and iterate on feedback.
• Debug end-to-end issues spanning model outputs, user interfaces, APIs, and data flows while documenting learnings to accelerate team velocity.
• Collaborate with product managers and client stakeholders to transform operational needs into functional software solutions.

Requirements

• We accept fresh graduates through candidates with up to 2 years of professional experience.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, AI/ML, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Compensation range: 4–6 lakhs per annum (INR).
• This is an integrated role requiring skills in developing applied models, working with LLMs when necessary, and delivering full-stack software products.
• Proficient programming skills in Python and/or TypeScript/JavaScript; ability to write functional software independently without constant guidance.
• Comfortable using Git, understanding web fundamentals (HTTP, REST, HTML/CSS), and proficient in at least one modern full-stack technology stack such as React, Node.js, or a Python web framework.
• Genuine passion for AI/ML with habits of experimentation, reading documentation, and shipping independent projects.
• Public portfolio via GitHub, LinkedIn, or similar platforms showcasing built work is essential.
• Strong English communication skills (written and spoken) to explain technical trade-offs and request assistance proactively.
• Willingness to accommodate overlapping working hours with USA and Australia time zones for client support.
