Java Software Engineer Role Overview

We are seeking a full-time Java Software Engineer for our remote team in India. In this role, you will design, develop, test, and maintain robust Java-based applications that power Outcome School's learning platforms.

Daily Responsibilities:

• Implement new features and optimize existing microservices to enhance platform reliability.
• Integrate seamlessly with internal tools and external systems (RESTful APIs).
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product, curriculum, and data teams to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Ensure code quality through rigorous reviews, unit testing, documentation, and adherence to agile methodologies.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and optimize performance for learners and partners globally.

Qualifications:

We are looking for a candidate with strong Java programming skills who can write clean, maintainable, and testable code. You should have hands-on experience with version control systems (Git), testing frameworks, and agile development practices.
Tech Stack Requirements:

• Proficiency in Spring Framework ecosystem (Spring Boot, Spring Data, Spring Security).
• Experience building or maintaining distributed microservices architectures.
• Familiarity with relational databases (SQL) and NoSQL solutions.
• Solid understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.

Beyond technical skills, we value strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and the capacity to work independently in a remote environment. Effective communication across cross-functional teams is essential.
Education:A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience is required. Prior experience in EdTech, social impact initiatives, or workforce development sectors will be highly advantageous.
