Job Overview

The Applications Development Intermediate Programmer Analyst is an intermediate level position responsible for participation in the establishment and implementation of new or revised application systems and programs. The overall objective of this role is to contribute to applications systems analysis and programming activities, with a focus on Java and React development within Maharashtra.

Responsibilities

• Utilize knowledge of applications development procedures to identify necessary system enhancements using script tools and analyzing/interpreting code
• Consult with users and technology groups, recommend programming solutions, install, and support customer exposure systems
• Apply fundamental knowledge of Java and JavaScript for design specifications
• Analyze applications to identify vulnerabilities and security issues; conduct testing and debugging (JUnit, Jest)
• Serve as advisor or coach to new analysts within the Technology team
• Demonstrate autonomy in developing full-stack applications with React.js and Spring Boot microservices
• Assess risk regarding Citigroup's reputation while driving compliance and ethical business practices

Key Qualifications & Requirements

1. Professional Experience

• Mid-level experience (2–5 years) in software engineering, preferably within Financial Services or Banking.
• Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining production-grade full-stack applications using React.js and Java Spring Boot.
• Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile/Scrum methodologies, and enterprise architecture standards.

2. Frontend Development

• Proven experience with React.js, React Hooks, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, and component-driven UI/UX architectures suitable for Maharashtra-based digital initiatives.
• Experience integrating RESTful APIs and WebSocket connections into responsive web interfaces.

3. Backend & API Engineering

• Solid backend development using Java (Spring Boot), Python, or similar frameworks for designing secure microservices.
• Familiarity with authentication standards like OAuth2 and JWT within enterprise environments such as Citi's banking infrastructure.

4. Data & Big Data

• Proficiency in SQL (PostgreSQL, Oracle) for schema design and query optimization relevant to financial data handling.
• Exposure to distributed platforms like Databricks or Apache Spark for processing large datasets within Citi's ecosystem.

5. Cloud & DevOps

• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) and containerization tools including Docker, Kubernetes/OpenShift tailored to enterprise deployment in India/Maharashtra regions.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines using GitLab/Jenkins/GitHub Actions for automated code quality testing via SonarQube or similar tools.

6. Communication & Problem Solving

• Demonstrates clear communication skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders, adapting to fast-paced enterprise environments in Mumbai/Maharashtra.
• Strong analytical capabilities for decision-making under pressure with deadlines typical of the banking sector.

Education

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
