Full Job Description
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled L2 Production Support professional with extensive experience in Java, Linux/Unix, Shell Scripting, and SQL. This role is crucial for managing high-priority production incidents, conducting in-depth log and data analysis, and ensuring optimal system availability within a demanding 24/7 operational environment.
Key Responsibilities
Incident Management
- Spearhead the response and communication for critical system outages, coordinating effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Lead incident calls with efficiency and composure.
- Leverage experience in 24/7 environments, adhering to ITIL processes and utilizing ServiceNow for incident tracking and resolution.
- Conduct thorough post-incident reviews and root cause analysis (RCA) to prevent recurrence.
Analytics & Problem Solving
- Apply a systematic and analytical approach to resolving complex technical challenges.
- Analyze data to identify anomalies, trends, and potential issues before they impact services.
- Investigate system failures and performance bottlenecks to determine root causes.
- Take ownership of problem management and actively monitor for proactive risk mitigation.
- Develop and implement solutions to automate or fix recurring issues, improving system stability.
Service Level & Process Adherence
- Develop deep expertise in established support processes and workflows.
- Ensure all support activities meet Service Level Agreement (SLA) timelines and communication standards.
- Monitor service levels diligently, identifying issues and resolving root causes to maintain high performance.
Required Skills and Experience
3-5 Years of experience in Java, Linux, Unix, Shell Scripting, SQL, and Incident Management.
Technical Knowledge
- Scripting: Proficient in Unix shell scripting, including disk space investigations, log investigations, and advanced text searching and processing of logs.
- Databases: Ability to understand data models, entity relationships, formulate complex queries, utilize analytical functions (experience with DB2, Oracle, NoSQL is a plus), and basic performance tuning.
- Programming: Foundational knowledge of Java/Python, with the ability to pinpoint problem components, track errors in code, suggest fixes, and map application behavior to source code. Exposure to Microservices and APIs is beneficial.
- Messaging: Understanding of MQ Series, Kafka, SWIFT, and event-driven architectures.
- Analytics: Strong SQL skills, pattern recognition, and performance monitoring capabilities.
