We are seeking a visionary Java Engineering Lead to plan, coordinate, and oversee complex application development projects. In this role, you will manage talented software developers and support staff, acting as the bridge between business users and technical teams to ensure timely delivery of high-quality solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor development/support teams through hiring, performance evaluations, and technical strategy.
• Synchronize application development projects to meet strict timelines and deliverables.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to prioritize requests and allocate resources effectively.
• Enforce organizational standards, procedures, and documentation protocols during all phases of the SDLC.
• Oversight system analysis, design, coding, testing, and troubleshooting activities.
• Champion quality assurance efforts and enforce industry best practices.
• Contribute to IT planning initiatives aligned with departmental goals.
• Evaluate technology solutions to enhance operational efficiency.
• Manage enterprise application integrations and API ecosystems (REST/SOAP).
• Maintain high standards of professionalism, confidentiality, and cross-team collaboration.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years recent experience in people management and team leadership.
• 2+ years recent experience managing software projects.
• Expert-level proficiency with Java development within enterprise environments.
• Solid background working with REST APIs, SOAP services, JSON data formats, and integration tools.
• Familiarity with IDEs such as IntelliJ IDEA, Eclipse, or Visual Studio.
• Demonstrated strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Proven track record of managing multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

Technical Skills

• Java (Core & Enterprise), REST APIs, SOAP, JSON
• Database query languages and management tools
• Enterprise application support frameworks

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with AS400 environments.
• Familiarity with IBM WebSphere Application Server.
• Direct experience leading teams focused on enterprise application lifecycle management.
