Expeditors is seeking talented Java developers to join our Information Services team in Chennai, India. This role is crucial for developing, supporting, and enhancing the applications used by our Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) team. We are looking for individuals with extensive Java knowledge who can visualize our entire system, understand component interactions, trace data flows, and anticipate the impact of system changes. As a key member of a collaborative project team, you will be instrumental in the design and production of our core business systems. These systems are designed to meet customer and organizational business requirements, providing solutions that drive business success. You will apply your technical skills to analyze business problems, design effective solutions, and develop robust data applications.

Qualifications

We are looking for candidates with 3 to 13 years of experience.

Minimum Qualifications

• Proficiency in object-oriented programming and component-based development with Java.
• Good knowledge of Spring Boot.
• Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Solid SQL skills for database interaction.
• Familiarity with build and deployment tools such as Maven, CVS, SVN, Git.
• A customer service-oriented attitude and excellent time management abilities.

Desired Qualifications

• Experience with webMethods development and a strong understanding of EDI data flows.
• Familiarity with transfer protocols like HTTP/HTTPS.
• Experience with front-end frameworks such as Angular or React.
• Experience with messaging systems like Kafka or JMS.
• Knowledge of Web Services, including SOAP or RESTful APIs.
• Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins or configuration management tools like Chef.
• Comfort working with operating systems including UNIX, Linux, and Windows.
