Java Developer

Infrrd is seeking a skilled Software Development Engineer (Java) to join our team in Bangalore. You will play a crucial role in building and scaling MCheck, our cutting-edge AI-native mortgage document intelligence platform. This position is ideal for engineers passionate about developing real product features rather than just addressing individual tasks. You will be responsible for architecting and implementing robust backend services, APIs, intricate workflows, and efficient data pipelines that support document classification, extraction, validation, and audit processes at scale. An AI-first approach to software development is expected, utilizing modern AI tools to enhance coding, understanding, debugging, and overall code quality.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance Java-based backend services integral to the MCheck product.
• Gain a comprehensive understanding and implement end-to-end product workflows, encompassing document ingestion, processing, validation, and audit event management.
• Effectively debug and resolve issues within backend logic, APIs, configurations, and data across development and pre-production environments.
• Develop utility Java services for validating, transforming, and analyzing structured and semi-structured data.
• Utilize Large Language Models (LLMs) and AI development tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, and Cursor to accelerate coding, debugging, refactoring, and test case generation.
• Contribute to feature development, bug resolution, and technical enhancements under the guidance of senior engineering staff.
• Analyze logs, traces, and metrics to pinpoint root causes of defects and performance bottlenecks.
• Foster close collaboration with Product Managers, QA teams, ML engineers, and fellow developers to ensure seamless end-to-end feature delivery.
• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and validation processes to confirm feature readiness prior to release.
• Author and maintain clear, concise technical documentation for code, APIs, and implemented workflows.
• Adhere to established engineering best practices for code quality, comprehensive testing, and effective version control.
• Drive continuous improvement in development efficiency by integrating AI-first workflows and automation strategies.

Qualifications:

• Solid foundation in Java programming and Object-Oriented Design (OOD) principles.
• A basic understanding of backend development concepts, including RESTful APIs and JSON data formats.
• Proven ability to debug code and analyze logs for issue identification and resolution.
• Familiarity with Git and standard version control workflows.
• Demonstrable Java coding experience through internships, academic projects, or personal projects.
• Understanding of fundamental testing and validation methodologies.
• Comfort and proficiency in using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Cursor) for coding and debugging tasks.
• Excellent problem-solving acumen and strong analytical thinking capabilities.
• Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills for articulating technical work.
• A demonstrated ability to quickly grasp complex product workflows and system behaviors.
