Your Team

You will be a key member of our core Private Markets technology team. This team is responsible for engineering our cloud-first Private Markets platform, built on a microservice architecture. This platform is critical for hundreds of client businesses, enabling them to manage and analyze their portfolios. Projects may involve areas such as permissions management, document management, and business-facing investment services.

Responsibilities

• Drive individual workstreams from inception to completion, coordinating with other developers and leading initiatives independently.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior developers, fostering skill development and career growth.
• Offer technical leadership and support to the team, promoting a culture of learning.
• Collaborate with your team, product management, and business users to deliver the product roadmap.
• Design, develop, and implement secure, scalable, and reliable microservices for client-facing applications using Java technologies (REST and gRPC).
• Contribute to project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables using Agile methodologies.
• Build highly efficient, available, concurrent, and fault-tolerant software systems.
• Design and develop innovative solutions to complex problems, proactively identifying and resolving issues.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 7+ years of professional experience in Java development, with a focus on building client-facing APIs.
• A strong interest in finance and technology, with practical experience, preferably in an API-First environment.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Java (version 17+ is advantageous) and frameworks like Spring Boot and Hibernate.
• Solid experience with Object-Oriented development and applying Design Patterns.
• Proven experience designing, building, and deploying scalable microservices using REST/gRPC.
• A commitment to best practices, attention to detail, and building secure and stable systems.
• Strong understanding of RESTful API design principles and best practices.
• Experience with API authentication and authorization mechanisms (e.g., OAuth, JWT).
• Demonstrated experience with modern software engineering tools such as Git, Maven, unit/integration testing, and mocking frameworks.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.

Good to Have

• Exposure to Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud services in an enterprise setting.
• Experience with message brokers like Kafka.
• Familiarity with API gateway technologies (e.g., Apigee, Kong).
• A friendly, positive, and proactive attitude.
