Full Job Description
Global Power Components, a dynamic manufacturer, is seeking a motivated IT Support Specialist to join our expanding team in Hyderabad / Secunderabad, Telangana, India. This role is crucial for providing comprehensive Level 1 and Level 2 technical support to our office and manufacturing personnel, ensuring the smooth and reliable operation of user endpoints and critical equipment.
Level 1 Responsibilities
- Respond to help desk tickets, calls, and walk-up requests to address user needs promptly.
- Perform basic troubleshooting for common issues including printers/scanners, software glitches, VPN/MFA access, network drive mapping, and Email/Outlook problems.
- Handle routine user administration tasks such as password resets and account unlocks.
- Prepare new hardware for deployment, including unboxing, tagging, and initial setup.
- Assist with onboarding new employees and setting up their workstations.
Level 2 Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and resolve more complex technical issues across various platforms:
- Windows 10/11 operating systems.
- Microsoft Office 365 suite, including Teams, Outlook, OneDrive, and SharePoint access.
- Desktop hardware malfunctions and performance issues.
- Install, configure, and update software applications.
- Perform imaging, deployment, and rebuilding of laptops and desktops.
- Conduct basic network troubleshooting, addressing connectivity, switch port, and Wi-Fi issues.
- Provide support for specialized manufacturing floor devices like label printers, handheld scanners, and production terminals.
- Manage essential Active Directory tasks such as group access, workstation joins, and user account modifications.
- Document technical resolutions, processes, and common fixes to build a knowledge base.
Required Qualifications
- 1 to 4 years of experience in IT Support, Helpdesk, or Desktop Support roles.
- Solid understanding of Windows desktop operating systems, Office 365 applications, fundamental Active Directory operations, and PC hardware troubleshooting.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot issues independently and follow them through to successful resolution.
- Excellent communication and customer support skills are essential.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with endpoint management tools such as Intune, PDQ, or SCCM.
- Basic knowledge of PowerShell scripting.
- Familiarity with core networking concepts including DNS, DHCP, and TCP/IP.
- Relevant industry certifications like CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft certifications are a plus.
