IT Support Engineer - Level 1
Zensoft Services in Pune is seeking a motivated L1 IT Support Engineer to join our growing team. This role is crucial for ensuring seamless daily operations and providing exceptional technical assistance to our users. You will be instrumental in managing user lifecycles, maintaining vital IT infrastructure, and resolving technical issues efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
User Support
- Deliver L1 troubleshooting for a wide range of issues including laptops, operating systems, printers, Wi-Fi, VPN, Outlook, and basic network problems.
- Provide prompt support for Active Directory login issues, password resets, and account lockouts.
User Lifecycle Management
- Execute user onboarding processes, including account creation, access setup, and laptop preparation.
- Manage user offboarding, ensuring secure access removal, asset collection, and up-to-date documentation.
IT Inventory Management
- Maintain accurate records of IT assets such as laptops, accessories, and software licenses.
- Track the issuance, return, repair, and replacement of IT equipment.
- Liaise with vendors for laptop repairs and procurement follow-ups.
Network & System Troubleshooting
- Apply CCNA-level understanding of IP addressing, subnetting, gateways, VLANs, and diagnostic tools like ping and tracert.
- Troubleshoot DNS, network connectivity, and basic VPN issues.
General IT Operations
- Assist with system patching, software updates, and installations.
- Support meeting room devices, projectors, and conferencing tools.
- Maintain daily logs, checklists, and IT documentation.
Technical Requirements:
- Solid understanding of Windows Operating Systems, Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP.
- Fundamental knowledge of networking concepts (LAN/WAN, IP addressing, routing basics).
- Proven ability to troubleshoot basic endpoint issues independently.
- Familiarity with IT asset management processes.
- Basic awareness of ISO 27001 access control and asset tracking compliance.
Qualifications & Skills:
- 1-2 years of experience in desktop support or service desk roles.
- Excellent user-handling skills and strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- A structured approach to problem-solving and troubleshooting.
Preferred Certifications:
- CCNA certification is a plus.
Tools & Technologies (Experience Preferred):
- Windows Active Directory / Azure AD
- Microsoft Outlook / Office 365
- VPN clients such as Global Protect, FortiClient, Zscaler
- ManageEngine ServiceDesk Plus
- ManageEngine Endpoint Central
- CrowdStrike agent basics (status checks, alert reporting)
- Zscaler client connector basics
