Full Job Description
CoverSelf, a forward-thinking InsurTech startup in Bangalore, India, is seeking a skilled and proactive IT Support Engineer to join our expanding IT team. In this role, you will be instrumental in providing comprehensive technical support, diagnosing and resolving IT issues, and contributing to the smooth day-to-day operations of our IT infrastructure. We are looking for candidates with 2-4 years of experience in IT support, possessing a robust understanding of networking, hardware, software, and systems administration.
Responsibilities
- Deliver first- and second-level technical support to end-users, effectively troubleshooting hardware, software, and network challenges both on-site and remotely.
- Contribute to the maintenance of servers, desktops, laptops, and mobile devices to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Support the configuration and upkeep of network devices, including routers, switches, and firewalls, ensuring secure and stable connectivity.
- Assist in the deployment, installation, and configuration of new hardware and software applications, including the application of updates and patches.
- Develop and maintain essential technical documentation and user guides. Conduct basic training sessions to empower staff in utilizing IT resources effectively.
- Manage, prioritize, and resolve support tickets through the organization's helpdesk system. Escalate complex issues appropriately and ensure timely resolution.
- Support IT security initiatives by ensuring systems comply with policy standards and participating in routine system audits.
Requirements
- 2-4 years of experience in IT support, network administration, or a closely related field.
- A strong foundational knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS) and key network protocols.
- Proven experience in hardware troubleshooting and software installation procedures.
- Exposure to Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) tools such as Zscaler, Netskope, or Palo Alto Prisma Access is advantageous.
- Familiarity with enterprise IT solutions including Active Directory, Office 365, and similar platforms.
- Basic experience in server administration and an understanding of virtualization technologies like VMware or Hyper-V.
- Exceptional communication skills coupled with a strong commitment to a customer-focused approach.
Preferred Skills (Optional)
- Experience utilizing IT Service Management (ITSM) tools like JIRA Service Desk, ServiceNow, or Freshworks.
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) or cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
- Knowledge of scripting or automation languages like PowerShell or Python for streamlining routine IT tasks.
