About The Role
Ruder Finn is seeking a dedicated, hands-on IT Specialist to join our team in Gurugram, India. This on-site role requires a proactive individual to provide essential day-to-day end-user support, manage basic systems administration tasks, oversee asset management, and collaborate effectively with our international IT department. The position is based in our Gurugram office, with a requirement to be present 5 days a week to support colleagues who are also in the office daily. Occasional after-hours support may be necessary for planned maintenance or urgent incident resolution.
What You'll Do
- Act as the primary first and second-line helpdesk support for the Gurugram office, responsible for triaging, resolving, and escalating IT tickets related to hardware, software, and network issues using our designated ticketing system.
- Provide comprehensive troubleshooting and support for Windows and macOS laptops and desktops, as well as iOS and Android mobile devices, printers, and other common office peripherals.
- Manage routine tasks within Microsoft 365/Office applications, Active Directory, VPN/remote access solutions, and SharePoint, including account setups, password resets, device onboarding, and group/permission modifications.
- Maintain an accurate and up-to-date asset inventory, encompassing procurement, imaging, deployment, returns, and lifecycle management; ensure all relevant documentation and knowledge base articles are current.
- Deliver courteous and timely resolution for a highly mobile workforce, maintaining clear communication regarding issue status.
- Participate in local and regional IT projects such as rollouts, system upgrades, and office relocations, and assist with audit and compliance tasks under the supervision of senior IT personnel.
- Coordinate with vendors and service providers for warranty services, repairs, and on-site support; contribute feedback to enhance IT processes and improve the overall user experience.
- Be part of an on-call rotation to provide scheduled support outside of standard business hours for planned maintenance or critical incidents.
What You'll Bring (Qualifications)
- A minimum of 1-4 years of experience in IT support or a customer-facing helpdesk role is preferred.
- Demonstrated strong troubleshooting skills across PCs, Macs, mobile devices, and standard office peripherals.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365, Active Directory, SharePoint, VPN technologies, and a foundational understanding of basic networking principles (TCP/IP, WiFi).
- Experience utilizing ticketing systems, managing asset inventories, and developing/maintaining user documentation and knowledge base articles.
- Excellent, professional communication skills, capable of interacting effectively with both technical and non-technical users. Must be organized, proactive, and possess a strong service-oriented attitude.
- Desirable: Familiarity with ITIL practices, experience supporting SAP end-users, and a willingness to assist with policy and compliance tasks under guidance.
Work Location & Hours
- This is an on-site position exclusively at our Gurugram office, operating Monday through Friday during standard business hours (IST).
- Flexibility is required for occasional scheduled after-hours support for maintenance activities or urgent incidents.
