IT Product Support Engineer/Analyst - Hybrid Role in Bengaluru
Eurofins is seeking a technically skilled IT Product Support Engineer/Analyst with a minimum of 2 years of experience to join our team in Bengaluru, India. This hybrid role requires 3 days in the office and 2 days of work-from-home, with flexible shift options (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM or 12:00 PM - 9:00 PM IST).
The ideal candidate will provide first and second-line technical support for our LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System) application. Responsibilities include diagnosing and resolving technical issues, supporting end-users, and automating tasks to enhance operational efficiency. This role involves working with diverse ticket languages and ensuring timely resolution within our BMC Helix ticketing system.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1st and 2nd line technical support for LIMS applications.
- Design, write, and debug scripts (e.g., VBScript) to automate workflows, customize user interfaces, and enhance LIMS functionality.
- Maintain detailed documentation of issues, solutions, and procedures.
- Collaborate with other IT teams to escalate and resolve complex problems effectively.
- Ensure strict compliance with IT policies and data security standards.
- Route tickets accurately within BMC Helix and monitor ticket status.
- Follow up on or escalate unresolved tickets to ensure timely closure.
- Manage and process tickets submitted in languages other than English, potentially utilizing automated translation tools.
- Support 1st level support for applications, acting as a technical resource.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Minimum 2-4 years of professional experience in IT support, helpdesk roles, or software support.
- Proficiency in VBScript for automation and task scheduling is essential.
- Strong knowledge of Windows environments and fundamental networking concepts.
- Experience writing SQL queries, including MSSQL and T-SQL.
- Familiarity with ITIL practices and various ticketing systems, specifically BMC Remedy/Helix.
- Proven experience with synchronous and asynchronous communication.
- Knowledge of modern software development methodologies and tools.
- Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills.
- Experience with TFS (Team Foundation Server).
- Familiarity with UI testing and Unit Testing frameworks (e.g., MS Test, Jasmine, MOQ, NUnit, Karma).
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills (written and verbal).
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
