IT Infrastructure Network Engineer

Eurofins Scientific is seeking experienced IT Infrastructure Network Engineers to join their team in Bengaluru, India. This role is critical in designing, building, and managing IT infrastructure environments, with a strong emphasis on network solutions.

About the Role

We are looking for Senior and mid-level engineers with practical experience in designing and building medium-sized IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be able to collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements and develop effective solutions. A key aspect of this role involves adapting solutions quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Comfort with Zero Trust Networks, Cloud environments (Azure, AWS), and specialization in Network Management are essential. As part of the Project Team (GSC – NSC IT Infrastructure), you will be responsible for defining, designing, and implementing network components for virtual security zones and Eurofins locations worldwide.

This position requires hands-on experience in both the BUILD and RUN phases of network management. You will work collaboratively within a small, cross-functional team alongside other highly qualified engineers specializing in Application, Storage, Compute, and Cloud technologies.

This role offers the unique advantage of leveraging your expertise while gaining an end-to-end understanding and influence over the infrastructure being built. The GSC – NSC IT Infrastructure team supports Group Service Centers and National Service Centers within Eurofins, serving approximately 4,000 end-users across more than 30 global sites.

Responsibilities

As a member of the GSC – NSC IT Infrastructure team, you will support and execute strategic and transformational initiatives, including:

• The segregation execution program.
• Implementing and designing various segregated zones (IT User Zones).
• Supporting and designing the segregation of in-scope solutions (IT Application Availability Groups).

Main activities include, but are not limited to:

• Implementing and managing state-of-the-art network infrastructure solutions for high-availability applications across private, public, and hybrid cloud environments.
• Managing provided networking services such as WAN, LAN, WIFI, Loadbalancers, and VPN.
• Serving as a networking specialist for in-scope IT services.
• Identifying opportunities for innovation, enhancement, and extension of service delivery.
• Producing quality documentation, including Procedures, Policies, and Low-Level Designs.
• Improving existing processes through sustainable solutions and automation for recurring problems.
• Collaborating closely with C&S and Security teams to ensure alignment and governance.
• Ensuring services comply with established policies, standards, and agreed SLAs.

Specific Assignments

• Designing and creating newly defined segregated infrastructure zones within Eurofins.
• Collaborating with solutions teams on designs for different Application Availability Groups (AAGs).
• Supporting application migration activities into the new zones.

Requirements

An ideal candidate should possess strong, 5+ years of experience in the following areas:

• Fortinet products: FortiGate, FortiManager (templates), FortiSwitch, FortiAP, FortiAnalyzer.
• Network infrastructure design and transitions.
• Network component maintenance, including upgrades.
• Firewalls (Fortigate, Checkpoint).
• Data Centre network experience.
• Cisco based routing and switching (CCNP level).
• Knowledge of protocols: IP, SNMP, SMTP, OSPF, VLAN, ACLs, Static routing.
• SDWAN.
• Switch stacking.
• Complex network migration experience.
• Wireless networking experience.
• Ticketing tools experience (preferably ServiceNow).
• Ability to create and understand technical documentation for delivered solutions.
• Strong collaborative and team-player attitude.

Advantageous Skills

• CCNP level certification.
• Proven track record in designing and implementing enterprise-level LAN/WAN/SDWAN infrastructure during acquisitions and transitions.
• Experience with protocols like DNS, DHCP, NTP, HTTP, BGP.
• Velocloud product knowledge.
• VOIP, QoS, Network monitoring, Load Balancing.
• VPN experience (ideally Pulse Secure).
• Data Centre network experience.
• Experience in complex network migrations.
• Cloud Networking (Azure & AWS).
