Arval IT: The IT Department of the Company
The IT Production Tribe is a vital component of Arval IT, focused on critical operational areas. It comprises four domains:
- Production Security Domain: Manages production security, including security monitoring, advanced malware protection, secure networks and hosting, security data warehousing/dashboards, DLP technicals, service design validation, privileged access control, vulnerability management, and production security project management and resilience.
- Application Production Domain: Oversees the daily operation of over 200 business applications within Arval's information system, ensuring smooth functioning, addressing issues, and implementing improvements.
- Infrastructure Domain: Manages, deploys, and supports Arval infrastructure hosted in BNPP Datacenters. This includes defining and enhancing the infrastructure service catalog, anticipating capacity planning, and integrating security and compliance. The domain has four teams: Network, Digital Working, Windows, Linux & Storage & Virtualisation.
- Technical Office Domain: Contributes to Project Architecture Overview (PAO) preparation and validation, drives obsolescence management, oversees the Production Cloud Competency Center, and provides technology expertise (e.g., ExaCC, Secure Transport).

Business Line / Function: IT ARVAL Network Engineer
Reports To: ISPL Production Manager (Direct), Network Manager (Functional)
Position Purpose: The engineer/developer collaborates closely with team members and business teams to develop features aligned with requirements. Responsibilities include ensuring developments adhere to best practices, monitoring deployments in higher environments, and providing support for production and test environments, including job monitoring and issue resolution.
Responsibilities:
- Direct Responsibilities:
- Firewalling: Applying modifications to ARVAL Firewall policies (add/remove/edit policies, manage NAT rules), applying modifications to ARVAL Firewalls (add L3 interfaces, VLANs, manage routes), and patching ARVAL Firewalls (deploying security hotfixes) during non-business hours. Providing L2 support for incidents and assisting users in identifying flow-related blocking points. Technologies: Checkpoint, Fortinet.
- Load-Balancing: Deploying Virtual IP addresses (VIPs) per Arval standards, and deploying or renewing certificates (public/internal) monthly to prevent incidents. Providing L2 support for incidents and assisting users in identifying VIP-related blocking points. Technologies: F5 and Citrix Netscaler.
- Proxy: Deploying whitelist and blacklist rules based on security requirements. Providing L2 support for incidents and assisting users in identifying proxy-related blocking points. Technology: Trellix Web Gateways.
- Routing/Switching: Implementing routes as required and providing/configuring switchports. Providing L2 support for incidents and assisting users in identifying routing/switching blocking points. Technology: Cisco Nexus 9K (VPC).
- Contributing Responsibilities: Assisting the incident management team and serving as the first point of contact for Arval network-related incidents.
Technical & Behavioral Competencies:
- Autonomy and motivation in daily tasks (Senior to expert level).
- Active participation in multi-technology squads.
- Proactivity in raising alerts, understanding the global context, and suggesting solutions beyond one's immediate area.
- Ability to provide proof of development matching requirements (test cases).
- Effective communication with business stakeholders (English proficiency).
- Knowledge of deployment/versioning tools (e.g., Ansible, Refapp).
- Knowledge of project tracking software (e.g., Jira, Snow, Tufin).
- Knowledge of monitoring tools (e.g., Dynatrace).
Specific Technical Skills Required For This Role:
- Proven experience managing Checkpoint Firewalls (VSX, R81.20).
- Proven experience managing F5 Load Balancers (LTM module). Experience with Citrix Netscaler is a plus.
- Proven experience managing Proxies (McAfee/Trellix Web Gateways).
- Proven experience managing Cisco Switches (VLAN management, VPC configuration). Experience with HP/Comware switches is a plus.
