Iseries/Senior Software Engineer

HSBC, in collaboration with hackajob, is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer in Pune, India, to join their Core Banking technology team.

In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining software products within the Core Banking technology stack, supporting the end-to-end delivery and run lifecycle. You will actively participate in the Engineering Discipline and its communities, staying updated on current tools, technologies, cybersecurity, and regulations related to data privacy, consent, and data residency.

The ideal candidate will have 2.5 to 5 years of experience in engineering and delivering software products. Essential technical skills include:

• Basic hands-on experience with i-series, RPGLE, CLLE, SQLRPGLE, SQL, ILE Concepts, DB2/400, APIs, SQL Stored procedures, and Functions.
• Proficiency in developing and maintaining backend microservices using Java and Spring Boot, including designing and building secure, scalable REST APIs.
• Experience working with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services such as GKE, Pub/Sub, Cloud SQL, and Compute Engine for cloud-native deployments.
• Implementing and managing CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins for automated build, test, and release processes.
• Deploying, scaling, and monitoring containerized applications with Kubernetes.
• Building event-driven solutions using event brokers like Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Google Pub/Sub.
• Collaborating with QA, DevOps, and product teams within Agile sprints to deliver high-quality software releases.
