
IS Observability Engineer
Full Job Description
The Global IS Observability Manager is seeking an IS Observability Engineer to join their team. This role will focus on managing a central monitoring and alerting platform that integrates core IS services within a complex architectural environment. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of hosting, network, and application services, common integration practices, and IT operations best practices. This is a hybrid/remote position contributing to the global Core IS function, with main stakeholders including IS Process Owners, IS Service Owners, IS Service Managers, the IS Observability Framework Lead, IS Observability Monitoring Specialists, and MSP PoCs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the development, support, and configuration of the central AIOps platform (APEX).
- Configure and manage integrations of monitoring sources (e.g., Dynatrace, Checkmk, Cloud native) with the platform.
- Configure and manage outbound integrations of AIOps with systems like ServiceNow, Snowflake, and Blue Prism.
- Provide L3 support for technical issues.
- Drive continuous improvement and expansion of the platform's core capabilities.

Qualifications:
- Proven complex technical problem-solving skills, out-of-the-box thinking, and a curious mindset. Scripting knowledge is essential.
- Strong technical understanding of working within a connected and distributed environment with multiple applications.
- Demonstrated experience in improving proactive event management or similar processes across medium to large organizations.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with third-party and internal service providers managing application, system software, and production infrastructure.
- Excellent documentation skills, including creating support documentation for users and the Operations Team.
- Deep understanding of container orchestration services.
- In-depth knowledge of Agile methodologies and DevOps concepts.
- Experience working with Windows and Linux operating system environments.
- Fundamental understanding of infrastructure and applications.
- Proficiency with infrastructure scripting solutions such as PowerShell, Python, or similar.
- ITIL 4 Foundation certification is preferred.
