Hirenest is seeking a highly experienced Senior IoT Platform Engineer to architect and build scalable, secure, high-performance IoT platforms capable of handling real-time telemetry and massive data ingestion workloads.

Key Responsibilities

• Spearhead the design and development of robust IoT platforms, backend services, and RESTful APIs.
• Architect event-driven and serverless solutions leveraging AWS technologies.
• Develop high-performance microservices using Java 17+, Spring Boot 3.x, Lambda functions, and ECS/Fargate containers.
• Engineer data/ETL pipelines for processing IoT telemetry using Python, AWS Glue, and PySpark.
• Create secure APIs utilizing API Gateway with advanced authentication (OAuth2, JWT), caching strategies, and rate limiting.
• Promote technical excellence through code reviews, architectural decision-making, and mentoring junior engineers.
• Lead troubleshooting efforts for production issues related to performance, scalability, security, and system reliability.
• Implement comprehensive monitoring and observability solutions using CloudWatch and X-Ray.

Mandatory Skills & Experience

• 14+ years of proven software engineering experience in complex distributed systems.
• 6+ years of hands-on expertise with AWS cloud infrastructure and services.
• 5+ years demonstrating strong technical leadership capabilities as a Lead Developer.
• 3+ years experience in mentoring engineering teams or managing development workflows.
• 2+ years specific focus on IoT, telemetry processing, and real-time data streams.
• Proficient with Java 17+, Spring Boot 3.x, AWS SDK for Java v2.
• In-depth knowledge of core AWS services: IoT Core, Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, Kinesis, SQS/SNS, EventBridge, ECS/Fargate.
• Familiarity with data warehousing and processing tools like OpenSearch, Redshift, S3, Step Functions, and AWS Glue.
• Strong scripting skills in Python (boto3), SQL, PySpark for ETL operations.
• Mastery of security protocols: REST APIs, OAuth2, JWT, IAM policies.
• Version control and containerization expertise with Docker, Git, Maven, GitHub Actions.
• Solid understanding of architectural patterns: Event-Driven Architecture (EDA), Serverless, Microservices, CQRS, Stream Processing.
• Experience handling binary protocols including MQTT, UDP, and Telematics data parsing.
• Proficiency in testing frameworks like JUnit, Load Testing tools, CloudWatch, X-Ray.

Nice to Have Skills

Groovy, Snowflake, Apache Spark/PySpark, Liquibase, Linux environment management, and advanced Binary Protocol Parsing skills will be advantageous.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Computer Science or Computer Engineering preferred).
