Intern AI Engineer

Role Overview

We are seeking an Intern AI Engineer to support the development of cutting-edge AI-powered applications for healthcare treatment, payment, and operations. The role involves building LLM context layers, data retrieval systems, governance guardrails, semantic data pipelines, and reliable AI components in collaboration with technical and business teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Demonstrate strong SQL fundamentals by writing complex queries against structured healthcare datasets.
• Leverage exposure to LLM APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Azure OpenAI) and proficiency with orchestration frameworks like LangChain or LlamaIndex.
• Maintain version control using Git basics for branching and code reviews within a team workflow.
• Design and build semantic layers, knowledge graphs, and RAG pipelines; master embedding models and retrieval optimization strategies.
• Analyze data quality, duplication, and freshness to ensure robust training datasets.
• Ingest live external data from APIs and web sources into structured pipelines, handling various formats and failure modes independently.
• Design schema and storage layers for vector databases in collaboration with data engineering teams.
• Build and test AI components including embeddings, retrieval logic, and prompts to iterate on context relevance.
