Intermediate Data Engineer

Assent is seeking an Intermediate Data Engineer to play a crucial role in advancing its data engineering practices and serving as a hands-on technical expert in Pune, Maharashtra, India. This position involves supporting the vision and execution of data engineering efforts, focusing on the development of secure, robust, scalable, and high-performing data platforms. The role requires active participation in supporting key technical initiatives, contributing to architectural decisions, and executing complex data engineering tasks to align the company's data infrastructure with Assent's business objectives. The Intermediate Data Engineer will collaborate closely with other data engineers on the design, development, and implementation of sophisticated data solutions, impacting the organization broadly by adhering to best practices and working directly on technical solutions for data system advancement. Responsibilities include contributing to the design and implementation of scalable data systems, developing and maintaining data pipelines and infrastructure, assisting in the evaluation and selection of data technologies, and ensuring adherence to coding standards and best practices through participation in code reviews. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, including database developers, software development, product management, and AI/ML developers, is essential to align data initiatives with organizational goals. The role also involves monitoring progress, adjusting priorities, meeting project deadlines, identifying opportunities for process improvements and automation, and expanding technical knowledge through learning from senior team members. A strong understanding of corporate security policies and procedures is also required.

Qualifications:

• A degree in a related field and a minimum of 5 years of data engineering experience.
• Proficiency in tools and languages such as AWS, dbt, Snowflake, Git, R, Python, SQL, SQL Server, and Snowflake.
• Effective organizational skills with the ability to manage tasks and clearly communicate technical concepts.
• Proficiency in collecting, organizing, and analyzing data with a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Understanding of data management systems, warehouse methodologies, data quality principles, data modeling techniques, and governance best practices.
• Familiarity with agile work environments and scrum ceremonies.
• Basic business acumen and experience in aligning data initiatives with business objectives.
