Full Job Description
Chevron is seeking a skilled Instrumented Protective Systems Engineer (APPS) for their operations in Bengaluru, India. This role involves providing crucial support during the operate and maintain phases of the IPS lifecycle, optimizing asset strategies and reliability performance through data-driven decision-making. The engineer will be instrumental in elevating business unit data quality to enhance analytical capabilities and improve facility uptime.
Key responsibilities include supporting functional safety concepts, such as Functional Safety Assessments, SIL calculations, Independent Protection Layers (IPL), Safety Instrumented Function (SIF) Allocations, and Safety Requirement Specifications. The role also involves supporting change management for IPS.
Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in chemical or electrical engineering from a recognized university and have strong knowledge of Instrumented Protective Systems and Management of Functional Safety reviews. Familiarity with industry practices and standards like ISA, IEC, and API is essential. A minimum of 5 years of direct field experience with an owner operator in a hydrocarbon production/processing environment in an IPS role is required. Experience with IPS tools such as Mangan and Exsilentia, along with concepts like Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), CMMS, SRS, PSSR, MOC, and incident investigation, is also expected. System configuration and experience with Yokogawa Prosafe, Honeywell Safety Manager, Triconex, DeltaV SIS are highly valued.
The work hours are designed to meet business requirements, with a standard work week from Monday to Friday, either 8:00 am to 5:00 pm or 1:30 pm to 10:30 pm.
