Infrastructure Support Engineer

We are seeking a seasoned Kafka Confluent developer to join our DAMO Platform team. In this role, you will provide crucial managed service production support and undertake minor enhancement activities. Your responsibilities will include:

• Performing infra automation using tools like Terraform and configuration management with Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
• Demonstrating a deep understanding of Kafka's core components: Brokers, Topics, Partitions, Replicas, Producers, Consumers, and Consumer Groups.
• Identifying and resolving issues within Kafka clusters and associated applications, while actively monitoring performance and availability.
• Analyzing Kafka performance metrics, pinpointing bottlenecks, and implementing solutions to boost efficiency and scalability.
• Possessing experience with at least one major public cloud provider (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Utilizing observability tools such as Grafana to dissect and determine the root causes of system and infrastructure issues.
• Exhibiting a strong grasp of Disaster Recovery patterns and hands-on experience with performing switchovers to secondary environments during disaster scenarios.
• Actively participating in maintenance tasks including patch management, version upgrades, performance tuning, and user/access control management.
• Communicating technical information effectively to non-technical stakeholders.
• Being part of a rotation-based, 24x7 available team to address needs as they arise.
• Collaborating closely with engineering teams to identify single points of failure and architectural risks, proposing and implementing resilient solutions.
• Demonstrating a proactive interest in learning new concepts and maintaining up-to-date technical skills and knowledge, staying informed about emerging trends in the technical landscape.
