Implementation Engineer

Join Backbase as an Implementation Engineer in Hyderabad/Secunderabad, Telangana, India, and play a pivotal role in revolutionizing FinTech integrations. As part of our Ecosystems team, you will be instrumental in deploying, configuring, and optimizing our Industrialized Integration Platform as a Service (iPaaS), ensuring seamless integration of banking systems following the BIAN standard. This early-career opportunity focuses on transforming technical requirements into functional, high-performance banking environments.

Your primary responsibility will be to bring the Backbase platform and Connectors to life for our clients, acting as an L3 Support and Delivery Engineer. You will collaborate with experienced engineers to deeply understand system configurations, map complex data structures, debug live integration flows using modern observability stacks, and automate repetitive implementation tasks through scripting. You will also provide L3 technical support and troubleshoot integration systems, utilizing tools like Grafana and Prometheus to monitor health and performance.

• Configure and fine-tune platform services for specific project needs.
• Execute custom properties mapping and data transformations for seamless system communication.
• Automate deployment and environment scaling tasks with scripts.
• Debug integration systems, identifying bottlenecks and failures in distributed environments.
• Utilize Grafana and Prometheus for monitoring, triaging issues, and proactive performance management.
• Provide L3 technical support and troubleshooting during implementation.
• Implement unified API infrastructures adhering to the BIAN standard.

Core Qualifications:

• 1-2 years of experience as a Systems, DevOps, or Implementation Engineer with a strong theoretical foundation in networking and cloud.
• Solid understanding of Java fundamentals, including reading, debugging, and writing code for integrations.
• Ability to understand data structures and perform logical mapping between API schemas.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a knack for precise configuration management.
• Proactive communicator, capable of explaining technical setups to stakeholders.

Technical Proficiencies:

• Solid understanding of networking concepts (OSI model, routing, firewalls, VPNs, ping, traceroute, tcpdump).
• Hands-on experience with Git; GitHub Actions is a plus.
• Experience with Terraform; Helm or Kustomize knowledge is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and managing containerized applications.
• Ability to read and write code in Python or Java for automation and integration.
• Experience with monitoring and triage tools such as Grafana, ELK stack.
• Basic understanding of public cloud providers, particularly Microsoft Azure.
