HVAC Design Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented HVAC Design Engineer with 3-5 years of hands-on experience in designing HVAC systems for commercial, industrial, hospital, IT park, and residential projects based in Guindy, Chennai.

Key Responsibilities

• Design & Drafting: Prepare comprehensive HVAC layouts, ducting, and piping drawings using AutoCAD & Revit MEP.
• Load Calculations: Perform precise cooling/heating load calculations using HAP, E20, or manual methods adhering to ASHRAE standards.
• Equipment Selection: Select optimal AHU, FCU, Chillers, VRF/VRV systems, pumps, and fans based on specific project requirements.
• BOQ & Documentation: Prepare Bill of Quantities (BoQ), technical submittals, and material take-offs for tender processes.
• Site Coordination: Collaborate with site teams to resolve design clarifications and address field issues promptly.
• Standards Compliance: Ensure all designs strictly comply with NBC, ISHRAE, ASHRAE, and local building codes.
• Vendor Follow-up: Review vendor drawings and provide technical support during the procurement phase.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Educational Background: B.E/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or a Diploma with relevant HVAC certifications.
• Experience Level: Minimum 3 years of experience in HVAC design for diverse projects (commercial, residential, hospitals, IT parks preferred).
• Software Proficiency: Advanced skills in AutoCAD and Revit MEP; knowledge of HAP is essential. Familiarity with Navisworks/Trace 700 is a plus.
• Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of psychrometrics, duct design principles, pipe sizing, and static pressure calculations.
• Soft Skills: Excellent communication abilities, collaborative team spirit, and the capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
