Role Overview: As an HRBP Manager/Sr Manager, you will serve as the primary HR contact for our Engineering, Product, and non-technical teams. Your role involves close collaboration with leaders and employees across these functions to cultivate high-performing teams and foster employee engagement, development, and retention. The HRBP Manager/Sr Manager will ensure HR strategies are aligned with the company's technology-driven objectives and contribute to a positive employee experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic HR Partnership: Act as a trusted advisor to engineering managers, tech leads, and employees on all HR-related matters, including talent management, performance, employee relations, and organizational development. Collaborate with teams to translate their needs into effective people solutions that enhance productivity, engagement, and innovation. Support the development and implementation of HR strategies focused on identifying top performers, creating improvement plans for underperformers, and understanding team and individual morale.
- Employee Engagement and Culture: Champion the development of a robust, innovative, and inclusive culture within the technology organization. Lead employee engagement initiatives, such as team pulse surveys, feedback sessions, and action planning to boost engagement, morale, and retention. Drive initiatives like Tech Town Halls, brown bag sessions, and other tech-focused programs.
- Talent Development & Retention: Support career development and growth opportunities for tech talent through technical training, leadership development, and mentorship programs. Partner with tech leaders on workforce planning, role design, and promotions to ensure the continuous building and maintenance of high-performing teams. Implement initiatives aimed at reducing turnover, increasing employee satisfaction, and improving retention rates within tech teams.
- Performance Management & Coaching: Collaborate with managers to execute performance management processes, including 30-60-90-day plans, regular 1:1 pulse check-ins, and annual review cycles. Coach managers on team dynamics, conflict resolution, and effective communication strategies within technical teams. Proactively identify and address underperformance to ensure appropriate actions are taken.
- Data-Driven HR Decisions: Analyze key people metrics (e.g., turnover, headcount, engagement) to provide data-informed recommendations and drive improvements. Work with the HR analytics team to create dashboards for monitoring the success of people initiatives within technology departments. Implement best practices in recruiting, onboarding, and retention specifically tailored for the technology organization.
- Employee Relations & Compliance: Manage employee relations issues, conduct investigations, and handle escalations, ensuring adherence to local employment laws and company policies. Serve as a liaison between employees and leadership to address concerns and proactively resolve conflicts.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 6-8+ years of HRBP experience, ideally within the technology sector or a rapidly scaling startup environment.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, or a related field. An advanced degree or HR certifications (e.g., SHRM, PHR) are advantageous.
- Tech-Savvy: Proven experience working with technology teams and a solid understanding of their unique HR challenges.
- Strong Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships across all organizational levels.
- Problem-Solver: Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and achieve results in a fast-paced setting.
- Data-Driven: Experience utilizing HR analytics to inform decisions and formulate recommendations.
