Full Job Description
AXA XL, a strategic risk division of AXA, is seeking a dynamic Head of TPA Technical for Liability and Workers’ Compensation in the Americas. This pivotal role involves leading a team of claim professionals, strategically managing Third-Party Administrator (TPA) relationships, and championing best practices in claims handling. Based in Exton, PA, you will provide line leadership for Managers overseeing TPA technical oversight for high-value liability and workers’ compensation claims across the Americas. Your focus will be on technical excellence, including coverage analysis, investigation, evaluation, reserving, and resolution, ensuring strict adherence to state and federal requirements. You will collaborate closely with the Claims Account Management team to govern TPA relationships, covering onboarding, vendor management, audits, service levels, and cost containment. Integral to this role is partnering with internal stakeholders such as Underwriting, Actuarial, Claims Legal, Compliance, and Regional Practice Leaders to optimize outcomes, manage claim expenses, and align on exposure and strategy. Driving data-driven decision-making through the establishment and monitoring of KPIs and dashboards, trend identification, and transparent reporting to leadership and external stakeholders is essential. You will lead continuous improvement initiatives to standardize processes, leverage technology, and enhance customer service for policyholders and brokers. Risk management across TPAs, including governance, privacy, data security, and regulatory compliance, will be under your purview. You will represent AXA XL externally as a trusted technical authority on liability and WC claim strategies, engaging with TPAs, brokers, and clients as necessary. Oversight of day-to-day claim operations, including approval of coverage determinations and referrals, and coordination with Claim Legal or outside counsel when required, are key responsibilities. Ensuring consistent application of AXA XL policies and governance across all claims, and managing reserve and settlement authority within defined parameters, are critical. You will monitor and optimize TPA spend, driving vendor management and procurement practices. Talent development, coaching, performance management, and succession planning for four Managers will be a significant part of your leadership role, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement. Staying abreast of evolving regulations and industry standards, and implementing risk mitigation and process improvements to safeguard AXA XL’s reputation and financial strength, are also expected. This full-time, onsite position offers a competitive salary range of $155K/yr - $259K/yr.
