Hardware & Network Engineer

UST is seeking a Hardware & Network Engineer to join our team in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. This role, internally titled Assistant II - Lab Support, is crucial for maintaining and supporting our IT infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

Hardware & System Support

• Understand fundamental computer concepts, system architecture, and components.
• Assemble and configure desktop systems and IT hardware.
• Install and configure Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Perform BIOS configuration and OS installation.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware issues in PCs and peripherals.
• Test boards and components using diagnostic tools like a Digital Multimeter.

Networking & Configuration

• Grasp networking fundamentals and core concepts.
• Configure IP addresses and basic Local Area Network (LAN) setups.
• Work with networking devices including routers, switches, hubs, bridges, and repeaters.
• Identify and resolve network connectivity issues.
• Understand various types of networking cables and connectors.

Troubleshooting & Support

• Perform comprehensive hardware and network troubleshooting.
• Resolve system performance and connectivity problems.
• Assist with the installation and configuration of software and operating systems.
• Adhere to established processes for issue resolution and escalation.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of computer hardware fundamentals.
• Hands-on experience with Windows and Linux OS installation.
• Basic understanding of networking concepts and IP addressing.
• Familiarity with LAN setup and troubleshooting.
• Basic knowledge of electronics, components, and troubleshooting tools.
