Full Job Description
About the Role
ThreatBook is seeking an enthusiastic Growth Marketing Intern with a passion for community building, content strategy, and data-driven experimentation. This role goes beyond basic social media tasks; you will be instrumental in fostering our practitioner community and transforming complex threat research into compelling narratives that resonate with the global security industry.
Key Responsibilities
1. Community Engineering & Growth
- From Zero to One: Develop and scale ThreatBook’s practitioner community across critical platforms.
- Onboarding UX: Design and A/B test onboarding workflows to convert new members into active, engaged users.
- Direct Outreach: Identify and engage with security researchers on platforms like GitHub and within niche communities to enhance brand awareness.
- Health Tracking: Monitor and report on key North Star metrics, including Growth Rate, Activation, and Retention.
2. Content & Research Production
- Research Workflow: Manage the complete publishing pipeline for ThreatBook’s impactful threat research reports.
- Multi-Channel Adaptation: Repurpose technical reports into engaging web content, blog posts, and concise, shareable LinkedIn updates.
- Editorial Management: Maintain a content calendar to ensure a consistent flow of technical insights.
3. Growth Experiments
- Rapid Iteration: Propose and execute weekly experiments to drive product signups and community membership growth.
- Distribution Strategy: Test the effectiveness of various marketing “hooks” across LinkedIn, GitHub, and Reddit.
- The Growth Log: Maintain a detailed record of hypotheses, results, and actionable learnings for presentation to the marketing team.
4. Social Media & Analytics
- Platform Management: Schedule approved content and manage daily engagement on LinkedIn.
- Sentiment Monitoring: Identify technical queries or valuable comments for the marketing and engineering teams.
- Performance Reporting: Provide weekly and monthly summaries of growth metrics and experiment return on investment (ROI).
Who You Are
- Cyber-Curious: A genuine fascination with threat intelligence and cybersecurity is essential, though not necessarily deep technical hacking expertise.
- Data-Informed: You prioritize data-driven decisions over intuition.
- Self-Starter: You thrive in ambiguous environments, enjoy building from the ground up, and are comfortable with rapid iteration and learning from failures.
- Strong Communicator: You can distill complex, technical information (e.g., a 20-page report) into clear, impactful key takeaways.
