About the Role
Join Optiver as a Graduate Software Engineer starting in 2027 to build, optimize, and deploy real-world applications that power global financial trading strategies. You will collaborate daily with best-in-class engineers, traders, and business leaders to solve complex technical challenges using modern technology stacks including AI-enabled tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Deep dive into trading fundamentals: from theoretical concepts to market dynamics, algorithmic strategies, and financial engineering.
Develop clean, well-architected codebases that scale with business needs.
Tackle high-complexity problems requiring strong analytical thinking and rapid iteration.

Required Qualifications
- Currently enrolled as an undergraduate (Bachelor's), graduate (Master's), or doctoral student (PhD) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Economics, Finance, or related quantitative fields.
- Expected to complete degree requirements between December 2026 and June 2027.
- Proficient programming skills in one or more of the following languages: C++, Python, Java, Scala, Rust,
(or other low/high-level languages relevant to financial engineering).
- Strong grasp of computer science fundamentals including data structures, algorithms, systems design, and software development best practices.
- Demonstrated passion for writing production-quality code and continuous technical improvement.
