About the Role

Mercor connects elite creative and technical talent with leading AI research labs. As a Software Engineer (Go) — Codebase QA, you will be essential in refining our coding agents through rigorous testing of Go repositories.

Role Responsibilities:

• Select tasks from pre-validated pools of Go repositories pinned to specific git commits, complete with engineering questions and rubrics.
• Navigate unfamiliar codebases to understand subsystems, including relevant PR or issue history.
• Rewrite task questions to challenge frontier coding agents while maintaining clarity and fairness.
• Adjust rubrics and foils to reward correct reasoning and reject plausible-but-wrong answers.
• Execute the full validation loop in Studio (Check, Golden, Run, Analyze) and iterate until all stages pass.
• Document work in task READMEs and submit for expert review, incorporating feedback on returned tasks.

Qualifications:

Must-Have:

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience with substantial production Go usage.
• Ability to navigate large, unfamiliar Go codebases and explain runtime behavior.
• Fluency in Go concurrency, interfaces, module boundaries, and the standard library.
• Precise written English for crafting questions and rubrics.
• Comfort with git at commit level, containerized environments, and command-line tooling.
