Full Job Description
Join Colgate-Palmolive's Information Technology team in Mumbai, Maharashtra, as a GIT Trainee on a contractual basis. This hybrid role offers a unique opportunity to gain practical experience within a global product-based IT organization. You will contribute as a junior member of an engineering team, focusing on building and maintaining specific products or services, learning and delivering tangible value.
As a trainee, you will develop into a 'function expert,' bridging the gap between product capabilities and real-world customer needs. This involves understanding the 'why' behind customer requests and gaining expertise in a specific business vertical. Your role will be to connect user problems to product features, technical decisions to business impact, system modules, and daily tasks to strategic company goals.
Key Responsibilities and Learning Opportunities:
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of IT products and services.
- Learn and apply Agile methodologies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including QA and Product Managers.
- Master collaboration tools such as Google Suite, Jira, and Git.
- Leverage a 'fresh eyes' perspective to identify areas for innovation and automation.
- Experiment and solve problems proactively within a supportive environment.
Required Qualifications:
- Exceptional Learning Agility: A strong desire and ability to quickly learn new technologies, processes, and concepts.
- Accountability & Professionalism: Demonstrated ownership, commitment, and a positive work ethic.
- Bachelor's degree.
- Programming Fundamentals: Proficiency in at least one relevant programming language (Python is recommended) and basic web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
- Familiarity with React, Node, APIs, and cloud technologies.
- Awareness of Cybersecurity best practices.
- Proficiency in utilizing AI tools.
- Strong documentation skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Data Analytics and Databases, including strong SQL proficiency.
- Familiarity with Python for data manipulation and visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI.
- Curiosity and a Questioning Mindset: A drive to understand and improve processes.
- A Bias for Action: Proactive in automating, prototyping, and problem-solving.
