LISI Aerospace, a prominent manufacturer located in the City of Industry, CA, is seeking a motivated General Operator I for its 3rd shift operations. This role is crucial for maintaining our production standards, focusing on operating secondary production machines and ensuring the highest product quality. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to safety and operational excellence while learning and executing various machine processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate secondary production machines (including Drill, Milling, Trim, Tapping, Crimping, Vision, Stamping, Marking, Deburr, Sorting, EDM, and Assembly) under supervision and after JSA training, adhering strictly to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
  • Monitor machine operations to identify and report workpiece defects or malfunctions.
  • Interpret blueprints and Manufacturing Orders (MOs) to understand product specifications, dimensions, tolerances, and tooling requirements.
  • Utilize measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and scales to inspect product quality and verify conformance to specifications.
  • Accurately record production data, including in-process inspections, unit counts, meter readings, and production dates/times.
  • Identify and report cosmetic non-conformances (e.g., burrs, galling, cracks) according to company specifications and initiate corrective actions by stopping the machine and notifying supervision.
  • Operate the Shop Floor System for MO information recording.
  • Perform basic machine maintenance, including changing accessories, cleaning, oiling, and managing coolant levels.
  • Promptly report all equipment malfunctions and non-conformance issues to the Lead person or Supervisor.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, following 5S department procedures and adhering to all safety regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with all Federal, Local, State, LISI Aerospace, and HSE regulations and procedures.
  • Actively participate in all provided training and adhere to HSE policies and plans.
  • Immediately report any suspected non-conformance with company procedures or legal requirements to management.
  • Contribute to improving HSE performance by participating in objective setting, progress measurement, and results reporting.
  • Support waste elimination initiatives to minimize production waste, such as recycling opportunities.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 0-2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred, or a strong aptitude for manufacturing procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints or job specifications is a plus.
  • Proficiency in reading and comprehending simple instructions, correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Effective communication skills for one-on-one and small group settings.
  • Basic mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, with an ability to work with units of measurement.
  • Ability to follow detailed but straightforward written or oral instructions.
  • Capacity to resolve problems involving a limited number of concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Must be able to operate secondary production machines under supervision after JSA training.
  • Must be able to comprehend and follow SOPs, work instructions, and special requirements.
  • Must be able to identify cosmetic non-conformances per company specifications.
  • Must be capable of performing minor machine maintenance tasks.
  • Must be able to report equipment malfunctions and non-conformances effectively.
  • Must be able to perform record keeping, data entry, and housekeeping duties while adhering to safety regulations.
  • Must be responsible for complying with all applicable regulations and company policies.
  • Must be committed to attending all training and adhering to HSE procedures.
  • Must be proactive in improving HSE performance.
  • Must be able to support waste elimination initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with reading and interpreting blueprints or other job specifications.
  • Prior knowledge of manufacturing environments.

This is a full-time, onsite position.
