GenAI Engineer

Join Amdocs Optima in Pune, India, as a GenAI Engineer and play a pivotal role in designing, building, and implementing Agentic SDLC solutions to accelerate and enhance software development. This role involves working with AI coding agents and copilots, such as Claude, GitHub Copilot, and Cursor, to automate and optimize key stages of the software development lifecycle across Java, C, and C++ systems. You will blend core software engineering expertise with hands-on applied Generative AI, infrastructure automation, and CI/CD modernization.

Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and implement Agentic SDLC solutions utilizing Generative AI tools and frameworks.
• Leverage AI agents (e.g., Claude, GitHub Copilot, Cursor) for code generation, refactoring, testing, documentation, and debugging in Java, C, and C++ codebases.
• Develop and maintain production-quality backend components in Java, C, and C++.
• Integrate AI-assisted workflows into existing software development processes and toolchains.
• Manage and update Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) for application and platform modifications.
• Enhance and support CI/CD pipelines for automated builds, testing, and deployments.
• Collaborate with platform, DevOps, and architecture teams to ensure scalable and secure solutions.
• Maintain code quality, performance, reliability, and security in both AI-assisted and traditional development workflows.

Qualifications:

• 1–4 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Java and at least one systems language (C or C++).
• Practical experience with Generative AI tools for software development (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude, Cursor).
• Understanding of Agentic workflows or AI‑assisted development concepts across the SDLC.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform.
• Familiarity with Git and modern development practices.
• Ability to contribute effectively as an individual contributor in an agile environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience building or integrating custom AI agents for development or testing.
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with automated testing frameworks and code quality tools.
• Prior involvement in large-scale or enterprise-grade systems.
