GCP Data Engineer

We are seeking a GCP Data Engineer to join our team in Pune, specializing in Cloud Solutions and Data Processing. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand technology requirements and design effective business solutions. You will be responsible for developing technical specifications and documentation, staying abreast of technology trends, and suggesting improvements. Key duties include conducting code reviews, resolving technical issues, and working with the testing team to ensure high-quality software delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop data processing solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Implement data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes.
• Optimize data storage and processing for performance and scalability.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather data requirements and translate them into technical designs.
• Ensure data quality, security, and governance best practices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues.
• Stay current with GCP services and data engineering best practices.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Minimum 4+ years of experience in software development with a strong focus on data engineering.
• Proven experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services, including BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc, Cloud Storage, and Cloud Composer.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala.
• Experience with SQL and data warehousing concepts.
• Knowledge of data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and data pipeline orchestration.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and tools like Git and JIRA.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
